We are booked in here on our trip down to Annecy and Switzerland in the summer. Looks a nice site, 10 mins walk into town, lots to see. Anybody been?

Stayed there few years ago , nice to visit Yper and the last post at the Menningate ...
BUT very busy and not cheap ....pre booking is a must.
Not a big site but always busy , sanitary OK , free wifi at front desk.

In Diksmuide at the Ysertower you can spend the night for free at the parking near the cannal , some noise from trains but thats all .

Last post gives a strange feeling , a must see imo.

I've stayed there.

Parked quite close together, more like an Aire than a campsite, in fact I was in Ypres for the 100th Centenary and wild-camped by the canal, nearer to the town centre and had more space!

I've also stayed at Yprescamp in Kemmel, 6k away, nicer campsite, much smaller town, and whilst I like Ypres it can get busy and touristy and Kemmel has a couple of lovely restaurants and bars.

Thanks Hotel, we have booked as it is July when we visit. Thought it was cheap at 20 euros for 3 people on a premium pitch, bike hire on site too. Yes the Last Post is on our list to do, plenty to see there as our son is slightly obsessed with all things "war" related. Looks a good stop off point to if you are heading through Belgium/Lux/Germany.

Yes, Hopefully more room on the "Touristic" pitch we have booked. Thanks for the tip on Kemmel.

Thought is was more expencive , but so easy to walk to the Last post.
As GJ says , arround the corner there are always campers parked up beside the cannal but in fact not legal and no facilitys .
We did 4 days WW visits but one can stay a month and still not seen it all.

Forgot to mention GJ is WW specialist....:D But seems she picked this up already
