Great site near Ypres / "Wipers" in Flanders

We are newbies - thank you to all who have posted some invaluable advice which really helped us get started. Thought it high time to also make a contribution. We recently enjoyed our first trip overseas to visit Flanders. If you are looking for a place to stay near Ypres we recommend the following site - 't hof Bellewaerde | Bellewaardestraat 2 | 8902 Ieper Zillebeke | +32(0)468 58 47 78 | www.thofbellewaerde.be. It is about 15 mins easy drive away from Ypres and is located on the WW1 trench lines. So if you are interested in WW1 history this is a great place to be located. The site is run by a very friendly family who go out of their way to welcome you. The loo / shower block and washing up areas are spotless. The site is located next to a small woods in which craters can be seen and on the other side there are two memorials. Hooge Crater Museum is 5 mins walk away along the entrance road. If you want to attend Menin Gate for the 2000 last post event free safe parking is available a few minutes walk away in Leopold 111 street near a sports centre.
