Climatronic heating problems

hi, we've had our 2006 SE Cali for a year now and it runs like a dream apart from a strange problem with the climatronic heating system - it works fine when it's hot outside and it is lowering the internal temperature, but when trying to heat up the inside, the front right hand side vents blow air at the correct temp, but the left hand ones are much cooler. Any ideas what the problem might be, and whether I need a specialist VW garage to fix?

Thanks

It could be a control flap in the combined Heater/AirCon unit is sticking and failing to open/close as it should.

When AirCon is on, All air coming in is cooled by the AirCon heat exchanger to remove excess moisture and then some of the cold air is warmed by passing over the hot heater matrix to give the desired temperature. This airflow and mixing is controlled by numerous servo controlled flaps.

Can you get hot/warm air on the affected side if you turn the temperature up on that side?

If you can then it could be a temperature sensor on that side is faulty or misreading.

I had major issues with the climatronic controls. I had to get all temp sensors replaced and it cured the problem.

thanks both for the comments - will try to get warm air on the affected side when the temp is on max.

Sounds expensive to get the sensors replaced - how much did this cost you (if you don't mind me asking)?

I think I read somewhere that you can do a reset for these flaps but don't know where I read it, probably need one those vrcd machines to do it

Hi I gave it to vw to investigate and they diagnosed it wrong. About 5 trips to vw later they fixed the issue.

Well looks like ours is playing up again. This time the air con doesn't want to work. Went to vw Glasgow and they replaced another sensor and it still refuses to work. No leaks as its been checked a few times
