Clutch slave cylinder has failed twice! At 30k & 60k......

Ours is a T5.1 with 140PS TDI. Is this just misfortune or is there a systemic problem? Have others seen repeat failures? Does anyone know if VW acknowledge the problem? Are there any known remedies? Thanks for your thoughts!

Our 2012 T5.1 failed at around 30k miles, £1100 to repair.

My 2012 failed at about 60k and 10 yrs.

Mine failed at 75k miles.

Two failures, 80,000 and 82,000 miles. Original was a plastic body cylinder as was the first replacement, second replacement was a metal body despite being the same part number. Cost was £800 for the first, second was under the firsts warranty. Plus you’ll probably need to get a wheel alignment check done afterwards.
VW couldn’t care less.
