Alternative Welsh mountains are available - you can see them from the top of Snowdon, so it can't be that no-one knows they're there.

Snowdonia’s peaks are far nicer.

But although it's lovely (when not covered in people) Snowdon isn't the only peak in Snowdonia

I quite like Plynlimon - sources of the rivers Severn and Wye, Lockheed wreck, and plenty of historical interest if you do some cramming on Coflein first. Very different to the northern part of Snowdonia, in particular, but I think that's half the appeal. It's certainly much quieter!
