Constantly Being Cut up by Cars

Is it just me, but every time we go out in the Cali we get cut up by a car either trying to cut in or pulling out in front of you at a roundabout which requires the use of the Horn

Am I not big enough a big red WV California with bright DRL's

Anyone else have this issue

I've noticed some aggressive driving in Germany. Usually on the Autobahn if you pull into a gap. No-one seems to like losing their view and will then rapidly overtake and slide in front to resume the speed they were originally going, even if slower than you. And so the cycles repeats.

Haha that’s the Van you drive , people see a Van and don’t won’t to get behind it . It’s a thing

It's just you. If you have to use the horn, fit a multi tone air horn in place of the standard. It doesn't do anything to stop the bast**ds, but it's very satisfying to the point of, perhaps, even becoming enjoyable.

I am trying to fit the dual horns I have purchased but can’t find a splitter with the correct plugs on but as yet it evades me

You should try driving an extra high extra long wheelbase Sprinter, people hate being overtaken by that, especially uphill! I got get anywhere near as much grief driving the Cali as I do the Sprinter!

My mindset in the Cali is "let it go"; it's not worth fretting over as nearly 3 tonnes of van is never going to be as agile around town as a car, a lot of car drivers are muppets obsessed with getting from a to b as fast as possible - our Cali is too valuable to get involved in "competitive urban driving".

When driving our daily drive, a Golf, I prefer not having the view of the road ahead obscured by an oversized SUV let alone a van or lorry which calls for overtaking on a dual carriageway, but patience on single carriageway roads.
When driving our Cali I just adopt RockinNRollin's "let it go" attitude (love that expression). My mindset is completely different in a Cali. I try to adopt a 60's hippie layed back attitude, be tolerant to others, and with regard to the use of the horn, it's for emergencies, it's not a weapon for use in acts of aggression.
Let it be man, you're privileged, you're driving a Cali!

Having a remapped 255PS stops them getting there despite obvious attempts to do so.
Mostly a case of weighing up if it's best to ignore them and let them get out of the way or not.
EV's with the rapid acceleration are another category for that problem.

Happens to me all the time in my Up. It's the 90 bhp version, so it's nippy and they don't expect that and try to bully the middle-aged lady in the granny car.

But the big van no problem and I've just got a Caddy, that seems fine too.

I've so far only driven a try-before-you-buy Cali for a week, but I found that I also slipped into this 60s laid-back attitude. You described exactly how I felt!

I am trying to be more zen whilst out & about, and generally cruise around quite steadily in the California - I've not registered other drivers particularly being more of a chimp around me, but post-COVID I've felt a noticeable ramp up in aggression on the roads.

On the other hand my partner has a '56-plate Prius & people really take the mick around us when I'm driving that - mostly pulling out of side roads as we approach, assuming we're not going that quickly or will be a pacifist hippy?
