Cup hder rattle

Is my Ash tray/ cup holder broken or are do they all rattle when open? It drives me insane!!!.
It doesn't feel loose, or look damaged.

Really!! if it were a ford transit, i would except that. Thats bad really.

It’s a design feature sir.

they have all done that since the T5.

it drive me nuts as well, consequently mine is seldom open but it does somewhat compliment the other rattles and squeaks from the wider trim

I never use mine because of the rattle and buzz. Not a good calling card for VW build quality.
