Decals - how creased is too creased?

I've just had some gloss B-pillar decals delivered, and they seem pretty creased despite being nicely rolled in the cardboard delivery box. The decals seems more creased than the paper backing. I've never used them before - can anyone with any experience take a guess as to whether these are likely to disappear on application, or potentially cause a problem? The photo shows decal side upwards (paper backing underneath). Thanks!

That’s terminal. I’d send them back.

Very poor refuse to accept them

Mine didn’t have all the excess material around them which would make fitting a PITA , came as four separate items rolled up in a tube.
The creases may come out if fitted carefully, but I wouldn’t chance it for something that provides a “finish” for the B pillar, which is right in your eye line.
Where did you buy them ? ( May help others avoid)

I'm no expert but having fitted two sets of decals recently, the second being due to an unsatisfactory finish on the first set, I would be surprised if you couldn't see those folds marks once you've fitted them. However, as I have said, I'm no expert so stand ready to be corrected.

Use them as a trial run and send them back if they show the creases.

Are they self adhesive or do you use a slip solution and apply them wet?

Thanks all. They're self-adhesive. I've sent a photo to the retailer and asked for a replacement set - will await their response.

Folks I got decals from the shop, B pillar, side and tailgate, but the tailgate ones were a horrific fit.

I got a them fitted by an expert wrapper,
when I went to pick up the van the guy didn’t want to let me leave his garage till he made new ones that fitted !!!!
He also said that the B pillar decals were a great quality vinyl but the side and tailgate were cheap S**t !!!!
I did try and contact the shop to let them know before I posted a poor review but got no reply.

Retailer says they all come like that, so I'll give it a shot and see how they look.

Where is the B pillar and what do the decals do?

The A pillars are the ones either side of the windscreen. The B pillars are the next two towards the rear of the vehicle i.e between the cab and the rear compartment.

The decals do nothing for the van but make the owner feel happier.

Careless or unsuitable packaging imo and trying to fob you off. Will they take them back once you fit them and the creases still show?

Eventually...

Or not, depending on extent of creases.

Do you think the Matt version would have given a more satisfactory finish Borris?
Possibly but they are only a minor irritation that I'm now getting used to. That's possibly due to the lock down. Apart from cleaning and charging the batteries once a month I'm not giving our Cali much thought at present. I'm too busy with a paint brush and roller elsewhere. :thumb

I might have another go at the decals at some point. If I do, I might try the matt version.

Update - these were from the club shop, whose response was "don't worry, they're all like this from the supplier - fit them, and if they are creased then we'll send some more out". Sure enough, I applied them yesterday (badly, but that's purely my own fault!), and I can see no imperfections whatsoever in them. :thumb Much better quality than some cheaper ones I previously had from eBay.
