The ongoing discussions query accuracy. My point is the methodology and accuracy is down to how accurate you want to be and how you use technology. Simple. Personally I just fuel it and drive now and don't care.

But gps will only measure the distance across the ground & take no account of elevation changes, Ok in Norfolk but makes a difference in the Alps.

The gps info on my VW sat nav shows elevation, it constantly updates it so could take it into account possibly?

my GPS always tells me the wine retail and the height of the alcohol rate ..... I do not care about consumption ...
