Discover Pro map updates for 2022 T6/1 Ocean - how is this done?

I’ve just upgraded from a 2017 T6 to a new T6.1 Ocean (built Q4 2022). It has the Discover Pro media system with Digital Cockpit … does anyone know where the map information is stored? Is there is a SD card slot for the maps (and if so, where?). I am asking as I want to update the maps.

Updates from internet with built-in sim, you don’t need to do anything. In Belgium ths service is free during first 3 years. There is no sd card anymore.

You can download maps from the VW website and update via the USB-C. The process is described in the Discover Pro handbook I did it a few weeks back and it beats downloading small segments of the update via 3G on the move.

I have a year old cali coming next week it has the Discover pro just wondering if I will have to pay for the service as the vehicle is a year old - How much is the service if you want to pay and what the benefits ?
