I see a number have experienced a loss of touch when it comes to sat navs. Is this a warranty issue?

If not does anyone know of anywhere in Surrey who could fix a touchscreen?

We have the one without sat nav in a T6 and an All-In Warranty.

Early T6.systems seem to be susceptible to this problem. Those that failed within the 3 Yr standard or 5 Yr extended warranty were replaced.

@scimmiamagia! This company can fix the problem

known fault that VW deny. (Sounds familiar) all units with suffix C suffer from the fault

try this company contact Hamid, mention the forum.

SatNav systems - Surbiton / Chertsey

just seen the post above, I can highly recommend the company

@Hamid - Satnav Systems

Looking at the VW All-in warranty it should be covered.

The answer to your question "do they?"is "Yes, they do".

The answer to the warranty question is "probably not" unless your system is relatively new.

And the answer to "where?" is here....

Mine was replaced on last day of All-In Plan, under warranty (Breeze Poole).
Strangely, VW replace the entire unit (£3k ?).
Specialist companies do just the screen for £300-500.
DIY screen replace for £30-50.

Yes they do . Mine failed down rhs. Replaced it myself for around £40. Good to know I can swap it again in future

My son had his replaced at 6 years under the All In Warranty (had to fight them a bit tho)

I’ve just had mine replaced under the all in warranty

It is covered, mine was replaced under the 'all in warranty', the whole unit not just the screen.

It’s the fight I have no time for.
It’s not a fight.
if the screen clearly doesn’t function as it should and a software update cannot correct it ( currently VW charging about £50 for this diagnosis procedure before accepting for All in Warranty cover but this may be specific to a particular dealer) then it will be covered under the all in warranty.
VW replace the whole unit although these may be being returned to the OEM supplier for refurbishment and these are the units in stock for All in Warranty claims.

All I can say is it was no hassle at my dealers. Proven faulty and software update didn’t fix so “new” unit supplied under All in Warranty.

Can anyone recommend any dealers to fix this problem in South Wales - same problem on a 2017 T6?

Thanks Collin, I'll look them up.
No VW Dealership will fix this problem other than by replacing the whole unit at approx £2-3000.
It would be cheaper making a day trip to SatNav systems in Surrey. They would do it for £500 or so while you wait.

Unless your vehicle is under warranty.

Having mine replaced next week on an 2018 model under the all-in package at Breeze - no quibble at all when the right side of the screen lost its touch function - some of the outer buttons also stopped working after about 2 hours of driving - cost would be £2500+ for the whole unit. I am so glad I took the all-in package with the extended warranty!

I fixed it myself. The touch part is transparent so slap another on top. Cannot see the difference as it only adds 1mm in thickness. The touchscreens are easily available from amazon (35eur) or AliExpress(15eur) for the same part.
Make sure to watch the YouTube tutorial.
It takes less time to do than booking, driving to and back from main stealership. Everyone is doing it this way now because lots fail and easier than fighting vw.
Note: you’re NOT replacing the whole screen, just adding a new touch layer without taking old one off.

Also have you tried resetting the unit by holding in the power button?

Nada. Left and right side unresponsive after reset.

Ok will see what vw say.

I am not paying them £140 though to turn it on and say ‘yep, it’s broken’ though!

Normally, in most Dealerships, VW included a Diagnostic charge is paid to diagnose problem. If problem covered under warranty then charge is void.
If problem not covered by warranty but you elect for the work to be done then charge void.
Why would any garage spend time diagnosing a problem and the owner going elsewhere.
