Does anyone know what this is?

I found this in the side of my pop top. It was in the drainage groove on the outdide of the canvas and appeared when I raised the roof.

not sure if a mechanic had left it in there after a recent service? It’s got a vw badge on it so just wanted to make sure it isn’t actually a part that has come off from somewhere?

looks like a spacer or a fitting tool??

I would imagine that is a fitters tool (factory) probably used to press the bellows rubber into the pop top groove. A unique gift from Hanover !
