A T5 going the other way on the motorway passed by the other day with the pop-top up! This wasn't a California as the roof was lifted at the rear instead of the front, but even so, most unusual to see... Maybe it was intentional to transport something tall, but not sure I'd risk damage...

Anyone ever driven with the roof up?

Only to manoeuvre on a pitch. Annoying alarm.

Maybe it was self driving while the 'driver' had a nap.
Well that’s what the market research some of us were drafted into were looking at....how journeys (and therefore interiors) will change once they drive themselves. Maybe they were testing that out!

Maybe the music was that loud he couldn’t hear it and with it being a rear pop top from the cab it looked down.but I bet if he pulled in a carpark it quickly became apparent

I bet is was a new battery powered camper on stealth test, the roof bed has been replaced with a battery store area so the range can be extended from 300 miles to 400 !

Perhaps they were sharing the driving. Other driver having a rest in the upstairs bed...o_O

Don't Joke. Judging by some of the questions asked on some Forums it is a possibility.

People have asked me similar with the downstairs bed, or if we cook whilst travelling...:headbang

sing!!! Are you sating that's not allowed. Must read the manual at some point.

No it’s fine.
Pretty sure thats why invented ACC, so you didn’t get distracted with braking and accelerating whilst your cooking you pasta and meatballs on route, whilst the wife naps in the back...
Also easier to watch the pans if you have the passenger seat swivelled.

If you spec ACC does it automatically mean the DVD has play in motion enabled?

When we had our loan from VW in 2011 for Camper Jam (which made us want to buy one) I stupidly tried to copy the Westies and Devons T1s trundling down to showfield, and left roof up whilst driving cos I thought it looked cool. FOOL! It blew a relay and I had to learn then how to manually bring down the roof - not a job I ever want to do again!
