EGR recall for 5.1?

Brought our 5.1 Cali to the VW camper dealer in Amersfoort to get solar panels installed and apparently there is some factory recall on the EGR. Strange as the Cali has had regular VW services. And it has never missed one and never had any issues either, fuel consumption is pretty good, 13,4km/lt with bike on the back.

They are my dealer as well. Did they give you any detailed information about the recall and what it does? Especially since many in this thread have mentioned they would not want the procedure to be carried out. Would be good to know all I can before they try to do it to my van.

They could not specify what was done explicitly, they did ask if it was reprogrammed as it would erase this. I don’t think it has changed much in performance or consumption. We haven’t had any problems over the last 2,5 years and 30k kilometers.
