Hi everyone.

Our 5-yr warranty is due to expire in March and we are wondering if there are any typical items we should be looking out for and also what the process is. Our sliding cupboard door in the boot needs fixing / replacing and we sometimes have issues with the phone connecting to the system, but otherwise appear to be doing ok! Really want to avoid getting to April and suddenly realising there are other issues that we simply hadn't noticed...

Any help or pointers will be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Presumably the MOT & hab check will be up at the same time, I would get it booked in well before the end of you warranty, I know a lot of items that it can fail an MOT on are wear and tear, not covered by the warranty but it's well worth doing, especially a hab check for gas & electrics and damp. Cheers K.

Get your self booked in for the all in one warranty on the day the warranty expires. Approx £35 a month for 2 years includes 2 x services/ mot warranty and european breakdown cover.
Mine has more than paid for its self.

Pop champagne. Celebrate never having to go to a VW service centre again. Google ‘VW specialist’. Look at the Google reviews. Gasp at the low hourly labour charge. Open another bottle.
…oh that’s not what you meant.

As per @Kevthegas post.
I'm now covered for 2 more years with 2 services and an MOT plus breakdown cover.
When you itemise the cost it's easily worth it IMO.
Now the warranty (all be it not included in the standard on the road price) is as long as a KIA.

I forgot to say in my previous post.

make sure you ask for a full “health check” this is what the dealer does prior to acceptance for the “all in“ service / warranty and it should pick up anything of concern .

In particular: specifically have them check both crank case oil seals for leaks,
it’s a very common problem (known problem) and will cost £900 to have one done ! (there are two)

I have had both mine changed several years ago under warranty, I hate to think what current VW main dealer prices are for this work.

Apparantly No Health Check required anymore.

Correct, you can Buy the All in online, but if you request a dealer to do a health check you’ll get the same level of inspection at any time

Can anyone advise further on this extended warranty please? My Ocean 5 yr warranty expires this year and I would like to extend it if possible. I cannot find anything on the internet specifically for California's. My mileage is only 22k (vehicle is 68 reg) but its the non-engine components I am more concerned about (electric roof, leisure batteries, kitchen appliances etc.) Thanks

Hi Dave,

have a look at this thread in particular my contact with VWCV

Done! Feels like quids in + effectively interest free over 2 years for MOT's & servicing & breakdown cover :)
