Is there anyway of removing the corrosion from alloy wheels and preventing it ?

Only refurbishing them will remove the corrosion.

it involves sand blasting the wheel, respraying, then the wheel is put onto a lathe where the front face is removed, the wheel is then lacquered with clear coat.

it’s a common problem on diamond turned wheels

Hi @Mowbotman
Only as @Perfectos has already advised. Be warned though, if you have a refurb’ you’ll probably have corrosion again in 12-18 months.

Diamond cut alloys look great but in my opinion they’re a real pain. Had this happen on a couple of Mercedes. My SL55 AMG wheels were beautiful but after 2 refurbs I gave up and just had them sprayed. (Actually I think there’s a limit on the number of times a wheel refurbisher will resurface a diamond cut wheel)
