Yesterday BoJo Mayor of London announced that from 2020 all diesel vehicles entering the congestion zone would incur an additional £12+ as well as the congestion charge. I understand he also intends to extend the low emissions zone. Where I live I am quite close to the zone at present but don't know what I would do in 2020.

Is there anyway of making a diesel engine a petrol engine? Or does this mean that the Cali will no longer be practical for those of us in Greater London?

Ideas on a postcard please.....or via this lovely forum of fab people....!

Euro 6 diesels are exempt, so you'll need a T6 Cali!

Is that additional charge a 24/7one or just during the hours 0700-1800 weekdays only as now?

Alan

In conjunction with the Congestion charge, at present.

Trying to turn a diesel engine into a petrol one is regularly attempted at filling stations all over the world, so far unsuccessfully, but I doubt that this will stop people continuing to try. Still it's a nice little earner for the recovery guys doing engine enemas!!
