Thanks Kev, that's just what I'm planning - already got the poles & tarp, just need to get the slide-in stuff you mentioned earlier.

yes, that looks like basically the same thing... the beading & the figure 8 adapter.

Dave, I bought 3 metres of the fabric bead on the weekend. They do two sizes, 6mm to 6mm, or 6mm to 4mm. I thought I'd need the 4mm bead but when I tried it in the wind out awning the 6mm was the correct size!

If so, does it have a cassette? Accompanying information seems a bit limited.

Yes, that one. No it folds up unto a bag. The poles break down. I wrap it all up like a little tent and it pops into the boot. The only disadvantage is you do need to be able to bang the guy pegs into the ground or find something to tie the guy ropes to, to keep it up - so that's not Tarmac then!
