Leaving Jersey on Thursday, first trip in Cali. First stop Poole, any advice on where to stay??? or what not to bring as feel I need to pack everything!! Thanks

enjoy your first trip don't take the kitchen sink you will be surprised at how little you need.

You don’t need to go far . Purbecks or New Forest very close to Poole . Lots of campsites . Or perhaps you would like a drive living on Jersey ?

Just pack what you think needed , you'l always be having stuff you don't use and things you forgot .
There's always a supermarket to get stuff during the trip.
It takes a few trips to finetune your gear....

Thanks everyone for the advice. Still here in Jersey, as the boat was cancelled, leaving Monday now and looking forward to the trip.
