Flexible LED awning lights

Anyone fitted flexible LED light strip to the awning? Where to connect cable to power? Fully wired in, drilling van or some other solution?

Sorry but can’t get link to bring up new info. Especially need to know how to route cable out-in to either of sockets under bench or near tailgate, without making hole in van.

I have a theoretical solution. Fitted to stage 3 below for rigid LEDs installed when awning out.
1. Boot 12v socket

2. Cable concealed in trim.
3. Out through the tailgate

4. Drill hole in awning end cap.
5. Move the awning cavity from front to rear by moving the awning support arms.

6. Fit the LED controller in the cavity
7. Stick the LEDs on the awning support arms

Note: the tailgate leaks the way I have fitted the 12v cable through the tailgate in photo #2. A longer cable is required and run through the tailgate loom on the left hand side for a leak free solution.

Thanks for that - the measuring & planning begins. Thinking of having bespoke cables made up by Aten so longer cables shouldn’t be a problem.

I'd love to see photos of the result, especially how the LED controller will sit in the awning casing cavity.

here is the solution I made last summer:

with this remote controller:

I passed the wires in by the cable gland of the rear hatch and connect the controller to the rear light:

(these are the wires from my solar panels but it's the same principle)

I'd love to see photos of the result, especially how the LED controller will sit in the awning casing cavity.

Completed the lights with different layout. Fed cable along tailgate recess to loom, then back inside internal trim to rear drivers side interior light. Have wired power to rear boot light and hidden dimmer controller in the cavity there, all internal. Will try and add photos but have posted them on club FB Page.
