Food Items when crossing the chanel.

As we are about to set off to France etc. across on the ferry.
Are there any food items that are restricted, eg dairy, meat or fruit and veg?

We have a few items in our home fridge that we would like to use up.

Oh and what about coming back to the UK any food restrictions that way too?

No one is going to check so proceed as you choose. Obviously no illegal substances etc.

We travel back and forward to France/UK about 4/5 times a year taking food and bringing food stuffs back, had no problems

There are lorry loads of food crossing the borders throughout Europe 24 hours a day so a bit in a Cali ain't gonna make any difference.

No, none that I know of. I just came back on Tuesday from a day's run over to France and as all consumption is for us - no problem. Just keep to legal amount of cigarettes if you smoke.

Furthermore, UK is - still - part of the European Union so what you have in your fridge in GB will also be OK in France, Spain etc as long as it is for personnal use and.... it works the other way around when you come back from an EU country. So, no worries and enyoy your trip ! .
