We are touring own the west coast of France and enjoying the calmness of September - campsites lovely and quiet now all the kids are back at school. We have almost reached Bordeaux and continue to look for quiet, small campsites - not the big ones with pools, games and millions of permanent mobile homes. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thank you

When the children were young we used to take our Conway trailer tent down to the Gironde and stay in the area to the west of Royan. Fantastic beaches and many campsites around the Les Mathes area - some naturist, but probable getting a bit cold for that now

Thanks Goldie - I will look it up. ps. Please send sunshine also - a bit cool here!!!!

Not so great when it is wet and windy down there with the Atlantic rollers coming in - it could last for days. But much better in a Cali than a trailer tent when the campsite starts flooding! I remember it well - digging trenches in the rain to divert the water.
