France Spain and Mosquito nets

For our first trip to Europe in our newish Ocean we intender to wander through France and Spain to Portugal and back with our Spaniel

We leave on about September 20th for a month and will take repellent and a zapper

Could I ask

1. At this time in Europe are mosquitos likely to be a problem?
2. Hopefully we'll have the poptop up when stationary and can use the flaps to provide ventilation
3. Do you think we will need mosquito nets downstairs also?
4. If so, Which is most practical? Sliding door - tailgate - side windows?
5. Some of the recommendations Brandrup and others are out of stock so other recommendations also welcome

Your advice most welcome - if we bought nets all round it would be hundreds of pounds

I have never bought any nets, just an Ikea Tea light Lantern and some citronella tealights. we also have a rechargeable zapper like list below:

Been through France into Spain to Portugal, mosquito's weren't really a problem, just burn one citronella candle early to late evening in a closed van and leave zapper on for night.

The midges here in Cumbria are worse.
