Fridge stopped working

Hi, the fridge on my 2024 6.1 Ocean has stopped working. The light is still on but the fridge isn’t cold. I can’t hear any humming noise from the fridge. We had it set at 5 as usual and have tried setting to max setting but still won’t come on. Anyone else had this problem?

Since I posted I switched on the ignition and the fridge came back on!

Your controller may be flaky. I had mine replaced recently as the fridge would turn off randomly even will at least 3/4 charge on the leisure batteries. Happened 3 times over various trips and 2 years.

Yes, I think that might be an issue as we have noticed the fridge had switched itself off again recently without us touching the controls.
Not ideal, although at least we are aware to check now before food is ruined!

Pop one of these in your fridge, keeps a record of temp changes (handy if you have raw chicken etc..)

Another thing I noticed was that the settings vs fridge temp has changed with the new controller. A setting of 2 with old unit and I could get liquid to freeze if placed near the back. New controller and I need setting 5 to get 4C. The compressor seems quieter too. Could be coincidence but could also be related to the problem controller.

Definitely setting 5 is what we have set ours, although (when the fridge works) you need to avoid putting beers near the back wall to avoid freezing!

If leisure batteries maybe they were low or too low on power

I'm curious why you set the fridge at 5. I set mine at 3 and everything is plenty cold and I like very cold beer.

We had found that when set at 4, water would sometimes pool at the bottom of the fridge?

Mine playing up too. Do I need a dealer visit or is the controller an easy fix?

It seems to be a common problem. We are just monitoring now to see if it continues to happen.

Hi I have a 22 ocean. Once when away had exactly the same thing. As van was 6 months old I rang the dealer he said it’s best to switch fridge off before unhooking. It worked fine when driving. On return hooked back up and was ok. Have not had the issue since.

I did and it was because the batteries were not charged enough. They were 6 years old and didn’t hold enough voltage. New batteries cold fridge

Yes I agree 3 is cold enough unless you want lettuce ice
