Can anyone help me? my fridge in my california has stopped working, it comes on in the control
panel and the fridge is humming as usual but it is not getting cold it doesnt matter what temperature you set it at it just stays warm. has anyone had this problem is it an easy fix and how much did it cost?

I'm not specifically clear on the Cali fridge however on other fridges that would be an indication of there being no gas in it.

Compressor still running which is the noise you can hear but not getting cold due to there being no gas to transfer the heat.

Sorry to hear of your problem.
When you say you it hums but doesn't get cold. Have you tried it on level 6
I thought I had problem at Christmas it would not get cold until I put it on 6
I think it can depend on the outside temperature . What I would do is try a thermometer
In the fridge and turn it right up to level 6 and see what it's like after a few hours if it doesn't
Get down to at least 5 degrees I would say there is a problem. Is your van still in warranty?
If so get it back to the dealer

thanks for your help, can these fridge units be regassed? i have tried the fridge on all temperatures but still doesnt get cold and not under warranty as a early 2005 model.

You'd need to speak to a specialist to check but it may turn out to be more expensive as they'll need to find the leak, fix it, purge with nitrogen and then Vac down before regassing.

Did you get any joy? I think mine is heading the same way (1999 preface lift with temperature rather than settings on the control panel) van centre claim it's working okay but just managing 0 when set at -18. They said the unit can't be regassed. Good luck and I'd be grateful to know if you got a fix.

Been away for a while, but the fridge is a compressor type similar to a normal household fridge/freezer and they can be regassed albeit by a specialist company.
