Can anyone shed some light on why this function is disabled on UK pumps?

Always wondered.

So that the vehicle is attended at all times while refuelling is in progress?

Ok so why don’t the Germans, for example, feel its necessary?

The whole idea is it auto stops on back pressure so where is the issue?

Health and B****y Safety?

Just wedge it with your filler cap?

Saw a trick in France the driver held the trigger open with a golf ball or table tennis ball.
It won´t auto stop if you do something like that.
Trigger locks are especially good in winter, just sit in the van until full.

It's to discourage you from whipping your phone out and checking the forum while filling up.

Just send the Other Half out. ;)

All truck pumps have them They don't trust car drivers

Carry a pop rivet, slide into the hole where they removed the trigger lock pin. Don't forget to take it with you when you have filled up.

Always baffled the girl in the office when I filled up a works van 'hands free'.
