Hello Ive recently put a hadrigg heavy duty box on the bike rack and replaced the struts to 1250n ones ,but still not good enough to lift the hatch up uber bus do some with 2500n but they cost £315 has anyone overcome this problem without spending that kind of money many thanks

The standard 1250n gas struts are designed to lift the California tailgate + chairs + double glazed window and Empty bike rack.
If the ambient temperature is low they may need assistance to open but should hold up the tailgate. BUT without any additional load.
Fitting higher powered struts will damage the tailgate, ripping out the anchor points for the gas struts and stressing the hinges.
