Goodbye Cali and Hello Zebedee

After three and a half years of Cali life we have sold our California Ocean and bought a Hymer Ayres Rock. We loved our time with Caii and were both quite emotional when we left her with the dealer on Friday - we hope she will go to someone who will look after the way Mr B has looked after her!.

Thank you to everyone for your advice over the years and thanks to the members who have bought all the accessories we have sold.

Hi we have spoken to our VW dealership about buying ours back. We have had our brand new Cali Ocean 12 months. Ok Covid has not helped but we are finding it too small regardless of awnings etc. We are looking at the Hymer Ayres Rock none pop top version. Could I ask which Hymer dealership you bought yours from !

Hi we have spoken to our VW dealership about buying ours back.

They’ll offer you 10k less then it’ll be on the forecourt for 8k more than they paid.... I’d sell privately as it’s a sellers market atm.

We recently changed to a Hymer Grand Canyon S, purchased through Campersales.
Just needed more room whilst retaining poptop.
Hard to compare both vehicles, so so different.
Cali far better driving car, Hymer far better camping experience.

Hi @Wild Bob - we bought our Ayres Rock from Highbridge Caravans in Somerset and sold our Cali in part exchange. We did the part-ex so we could have our Cali until the new campervan arrived - with Covid that was a good move as we had a four month delay with the new campervan. Ours was 3.5 years old and we got 4.5K less than we paid when new - we were pleased with the deal.

We're away in the AR at the moment and love it - as @Wondering Star has said - VW great for driving but AR still very good to drive (we upgraded the engine) but the AR wins hands down for the camping experience.
