Here we are, out shopping amongst the Xmas hoards……. I’ve had enough! Park up in Lidl whilst Mrs Chocks finishes the food shop, Kettle on, heater on, sit back and relax

This is one of the many reasons why we love our van :)

I wholeheartedly agree on this.

Love having a decent coffee in the wagon instead of paying eye watering prices for a Costa Express.

I love it for this too. My daughter’s been recently studying a 3 hour course on a Saturday morning, just too far away to bother coming home. Coffee on, laptop out and it’s the perfect mobile cafe/office.

@subthree @Kayleigh I have to say this kettle is simply a joy to use! You know how the Cali brings a smile to your face every time to drive it....... well that's the feeling you get with this kettle. It is well engineered, high quality and fits in the Cali sink bowl along with two cups and you can still close the lid. I spent a lot of time researching kettles a couple of years ago and this one ticked all the boxes for me. We have used it hundreds of times and it still looks clean and tidy (tbh I have only just given it a quick wipe over for this photo :thumb ). One important point I would just make is that when it is hot use a tea towel to hold the handle and be wary of the lid, it can tip forward sometimes. These are minor issues quite frankly.

I can't remember where I bought it but here is an Amazon link. It is the 1 litre size that we have.

Do you think it will work on induction?
I have one of these cheap kettles from Decathlon. Doesn’t look anywhere near as nice as the Firemaple, but does work on induction.

I like your very smart kettle.
Firemaple make good stuff at a reasonable price, a bit like SCS they have a sale on 365 days a year so best to buy from them direct. I have one of their stainless steel billy can from the same range. I use on the fire and a gas stove. Both excellent. Had my eye on that kettle too but decided to stick with a collapsible one for inside use.

Unfortunately no...... it's stainless steel

Edit: @wildslammer22 got me thinking...... I just tried it on our induction home in the house...... Yes it does work!

It’s stainless steel so I assume so.

From their Q&A

Q4: Do you know if this kettle is compatible with an induction cooktop?
A: If you don't mind that the kettle's bottom isn't fully flat, you may use it on an induction burner.

I have one of these collapsible kettles that I got from Amazon for about £15 which takes up very little space …
