Habitation check

My brother-in-law recently told me about a habitation check that was done on his (not VW) campervan. Does anyone have an experience of these checks and are they a legal requirement. He was not able to tell me. I live in the Channel Islands so outside any UK law and as far as I’m aware there is no requirement here for such checks. I welcome any comments the forum may have.

Only a legal requirement if you rent the vehicle out.

Lots of Big Whites seem to require them to maintain their warranties the only thing the Cali {your Coast} needs is gas pipe changed date on pipe - although I just check for cracks etc and did not change.

Where the gas bottle is in the bottle locker label on orange pipe 5 year life Span if I recall right.
