I have seen a number of innovative canvas zip / opening arrangements on the German and Swiss specialists. I have the Beach which does not have a 'window' to the front. Has anyone had a customised job done on their canvas. I particularly like this one - https://multicamper.com/ which a big side opener and the front facing panel.

I know we have those plastic panels that guide the roof in, but i am sure we could get over that.

Does anyone know of a UK company that could do a similar job for me - thanks

This is not a customization of the existing VW canvas. It is a conversion, and I believe it is how the specific roof canvas is made for the MultiCamper. Uncertain if the canvas will fit on the genuine cali-roof frame?

Thanks Kmann - i was thinking i would like someone to install a big window in the front of my Beach roof - i suspect it would need to be removed to sew in the zip and window. I dont know how big a job it is to remove the canvas, i would think the sewing part is not too tricky - for a skilled machinist.

Possibly a Boat or Car hood company could do it but I'd expect over £2000 costing.

If i am correct removing the canvas from the frame means you need a new "seal" the canvas is pushed in a thight rail and pulling it out damage certain rubber seal that needs replacement.
That is how i think they told while the factory visit in last april.

I personal would never let anyone with no Cali background do this job .

Taking out will not be the issue - I do not know if you can put the canvas back in once it has been taken out when we had the old style roof repair the canvas had to be removed for repair and a new one put in rather than re using the old one,

Yes they can be refitted but risk of damage is high. Apparently it is a horrible job to get it back into the chanel with the seal.
