Just using the heater for the first tine and it really smells of desiel fumes, is the normal ? It’s quite smelly. Just wondering if I should switch it off

Your Avatar has no vehicle information, but if it is a new vehicle and first time then it might be a bit smelly on start up but should settle down once unto temperature and " burnt in" so to say. It is just unburnt diesel you get on start up. Perfectly safe and more prominent if you have the side door open. The amount of Carbon Monoxide produced is so small it is almost unmeasurable. Using the gas burner without ventilation is more dangerous. Many owners have a Carbon Monoxide monitor in the vehicle for peace of mind.

Thanks so much, I have a carbon monoxide alarm with me, good to know it’s normal to smell the 1st time
