Help - locked out

[Amarillo]

My key goes in the ignition, and turns one click.

The steering wheel is locked hard and the gear selector won't move out of park.

Help!

Solved - van parked with a hard right lock. Turned key by pulling steering wheel very hard right.

I had a similar moment of panic before engaging brute force. I guess that the steering is just very heavy with no power assist when on a hard lock.

Done that before myself, once the power steering has released there is quite a load on the steering lock.
