Hoping someone here can help me please.
My window motor on my 57 T5 is no longer working properly, so can't operate the windows & central locking iffy.

VW say no longer available and no replacement available either.

Part No(s) - 6Y1959801- original
6Y1959801VW6 - replacement stopped in 2023

According to VW Van Centre - nothing they can do !!

I have tried CaliParts and the item they sent me (correct), didn't work.

Can anyone assist ?

Many thanks

This was discussed in another thread back in 2024 with help suggested by @WelshGas. If it helps the link is below.
They might be able to assist.

If you're going to replace it yourself, get it out and have a good look around it because there might well be a manufacturer's name on it. e.g. Bosch or Valeo. There may be an equivalent still being made for another van/car.

Can you give me your VIN number?
And what is not working properly?
The central locking shouldn't be iffy because of a not properly working window motor.
And that part number, I can't find it on a T5.

I fear that when your van center says they CAN’T do anything for you, they are really saying they WON’T do anything for you…

Our van is 17 years old this year, and we have also encountered some situations where a part was no longer available from VW, but our van centre’s supply people have always scavenged the market for us and found a part that fitted and worked, eventually. Took them some time, sometimes, that’s true, but until now they have always succeeded.
I guess we are just lucky to have them…

Care to share which Centre ?
I got the same impression when I spoke to my local one, didn't seem bothered at all.

Can you hear the window motor and / or crunching noise? If so, then you just need to replace the regulator (cable).

Nope, no noise at all.
My garage has looked at it and basically need a new/replacement one
Cheers

Window not operational at all, on both front doors.
No noise at all, so not even 'trying' to work.
Been to local VW guys, say it needs new/replacing, but VW don't do the part anymore.....
Told that this unit also controls the central locking...what I was told.

With both fronts not working . Check the earth wires !
& wiring generally?

Hi there. I'm new to this forum having just purchased a Cali three weeks ago. I'm a teacher in Germany and nothing to do with the motor industry in any way or form but have exploited a postal loophole.
I help the A2 community (the old original aluminium one) with spares that are NLA or, Audi UK can't souce (brexit and VAT etc etc). I have even sent stuff to an Audi dealer in Glasgow for one of their customer cars!
I have an account here: https://audi-tradition-parts.de/de_DE for AUdi bits and have sent many €10's of thousands across to the UK. Small stuff, clips, springs, engine mounts and that sort of thing. All done at cost + DHL post and to date, nothing has been intercepted by your friends on the border. I do this to help the A2 community keep these little cars on the road where a €45 cable made from UK Unobtainium can take the car off the road permanently.

If you do some work on google and VW have a similar facility to Audi Tradition and you can find the part you need then let's see what can be arranged. FWIW, I'm "Rickmeister" on the A2OC uk forum if you want to check me and this offer over there.

The fact that Both windows L & R.have stopped working either indicates that both window motors have failed , so you require 2 x Window electric motors ( Extremely Unlikely ) or a straight forward electrical fault.
I would check you have power to the window switches on the Drivers door.
A reasonably common problem is that wires break in the wiring loom to the drivers door or corrosion in the switch due to water from an open window.
If you are not upto a little electrical investigation then a good auto electrician is required.
