I have rented a VW Grand for a week in Brittany. So far we’ve had a few issues. The gas was cut out as the rental agency had left the valves on the bottles and the safety system kicked in when I went over some deep potholes- on the way into the campsite! Luckily a wonderful YouTube video from Southampton VW man helped us sort it, in the dark, in clouds of midges at 10pm! Beer was had afterwards…
In their wisdom, the rental mob have disabled the step - they say they’ve had too many people drive off with it out. Doesn’t it auto retract? Surely that would be sensible? I think they’ve done it by removing the fuse, fuses SJ8 and SJ10 are missing in the leisure fuse box. Could that be it? I’d love to get it going again for the duration of my rental !
