How am I supposed to watch a film on DNX521DAB ?

Half way through a DVD the unit turns off and it takes forever to get back to the exact point at which it did so. The keys are in and the ignition on one notch. Can't see the point of including a DVD player if you cannot watch a feature film when parked up. Any ideas ? Thanks.

Hmm .. that problem is commonplace in all devices, we started watching a film on BBC iPlayer on our Freeview device, crashed ... switched to Apple TV ... crashed ... back to Freeview and eventually (three evenings later) we finished the film

Any stereo that is connected to the CAN BUS will automatically turn off after 30 or 40 minutes, without the ignition switched on, this setting can not be changed. There have been numerous discussions about it. Stereo needs CAN BUS to be able to show graphics for OPS & Climatronic.
Try talking to the Kenwood guys on here, they may know of some secret trick that will work.
