How long does the gas last?

Hi, just a fairly open question on gas. If I had say two cups of tea a day plus 20 mins extra gas for cooking, how long could i expect a bottle to last? Thanks

Hello

We are still using the original 907 bottle and have had 88 nights in the Cali. Of those about 75% using the onboard gaz the rest of the meals being bbq's or cooked on the single burner or pubs !

We carry a spare 907 and a Campingaz Super Carena single burner which just screws on top of the 907.
Perfect for breakfasts or in fact any one pan meal if you do not want to use bbq or mess up inside the van. Although the smaller size 904 will fit both Cali and burner.

We also carry a Weber Go Anywhere Charcoal bbq for summer use.

When the wife needs a pan of boiling water say for pasta if on hook up she always boils kettle first to save gaz.

Finally I just want to add that I do all the cooking outside and all the washing up......!!!

You can keep an eye on how full it is by weighing it - the empty weight is stamped on the cylinder. Saves carrying a spare all the time....

We use the standard size bottle (907 I think) and ours lasts more or less 12 months - I've replaced the bottle at pretty much the same time the last 2 years.

We average 2 weekends away spring through to autumn plus usually a week or 2 week holiday. We also regularly bbq and we have a coleman 2 burner stove, so when the weather is good we cook outside more often than inside on the gas.

We're still using the bottle we bought for our previous Cali in 2010. Because it's not used for heating the gas lasts a long time; as others have said there are meals out, barbis, takeaways and other means of eating. We also use a Remouska or another cooker thing I've forgotten the name of when on hook up, and always boil up a flask full of water when we leave home, or leave a site with hook up.
