I like the look of this....

Ah, yep you could be right. That'll teach me to post without catching up. Disregard :/

Just had a look at this on kickstarter, looks pretty smart. Not least the pack down size of 1m X 24cm x 20cm or so.... not taking up much space at all. Price seems pretty ken too, although obviously can't feel the quality as yet.... But that's the nature of supporting a new venture....

I wonder how to attach it to the awning side?
I think it is a bit expensive for what it offers?
The airbed, usually it is very cold to sleep on just and air bed without insulation.

Aren't there very similar existing cheaper ground tents that use poles like this from a central point? Then just cut the floor out and get the same thing?

Made my own for winter use.

Got ones of these recently. Its very good! Relatively cheap, easy to put up and take down. Gives you a whole other room, we use it for a games room/ mess. You can get the cali table and 4 chairs in there easily. Got this after an early wet weekend was a miserable experience for 4 people and our dog. The extra space we get has been a godsend especially when the weather is poor.

Hi Everyone, hope you don't mind my jumping in on the conversation.

My name is Julie and I'm the creator of sheltaPod campervan awning. The reason I decided to design this awning was because I couldn't find one that was quick and easy to put up singlehanded and also didn't block the light and views from inside the van. Rather than a replacement to other bigger awnings, sheltaPod fills a gap in the market and was very well received at Camper Calling last weekend.
Also if you check out our website (link below) you will see that sheltaPod is much more versatile than other awnings...it can fold back to be a simple sun canopy but also provides extra sleeping space when folded back down and the inner tent is clipped in.

Please ask me any further questions you wish. And in reply to what you have already mention:
Attachment to a California is via the C channel hidden under the factory fitted awning, but there are also four other attachment methods for other vehicles.
The inner tent has an integrated ground sheet and for the airbed, I use a faux fur throw with the sleeping bag on top...very cozy and warm.
