In need of struts

I'm in need of two very different type of strut:

One for the sink glass which when I parked on a very slight angle would not stay up which made boiling my first kettle for a cup of tea at the seaside challenging. Has anyone else replaced one and if so was it a VW or aftermarket and where did they get it? Campervantastic have them for £37 which is a lot for something so small!

The tailgate needs a helping hand to get up to full height. There is a massive price difference between the SGS £67 a pair and VW £234 (supplier as before). I've looked at the threads on this and they are not conclusive. Has anyone used SGS struts recently?

Where is the best supplier for OEM VW parts like these?

SGS struts are fine. We have fitted them on T4, T5.1 Beach and Club Joker.

The tailgate ones might be temperature related.
I used the one from club shop for the kitchen expensive but it is a genuine vw one, works as it should.

At this time of year ALL tailgate need a helping hand to get to full height. They are gas struts and ambient temperature has a significant effect. I would wait for the warmer weather to see if you need to change them. As long as the tailgate stays up when lifted the last few inches .

Thank you for the advice! I hadn't realised how much difference temperature would make - I have a lot to learn! One strut does groan halfway through opening.

Ironically I replaced the struts on the car I traded in for the Cali on the morning of handover, because I had bought them a couple of months previously and they were unlike to be of any other use to me!

I'll get the sink one from the club shop (is that CampervanBits?). I also want to try and get DAB on board ideally without replacing the head unit (and paying £££) and see what options are avaialable for rear parking sensors. I'm amazed that these weren't fitted as standard!!
