With the cold weather coming I would like to get this sorted out.
Our interior heater only works when we have a hook-up (which I would prefer not to bother with / pay for). With the hook-up it works fine - starts blowing, heats up, all ok.
Without the hook-up, it starts blowing, but only cold air, and it switches itself off after a couple of minutes.
This is with plenty of fuel and a good charge on the leisure battery.

Any thoughts? The van is a 2008 T5.

Are you sure the lesure bats are still good enough...are they still the original?
If so from 2008 they are over theire best....

I had a new leisure battery fitted a couple of years ago to try and sort this out, but it's still happening.

Earth bond?

Someone will have to explain that for me :)

Probably needs an earth shunt repair. Dead easy to do. There Is a 'how to guide' in the download section. Very common on the older California's.
Do your interior lights flicker when you run the heater on 12v?

Earth shunt was one of the bits they replaced on mine ...

Yes, they do. I'll have a look at the download section. Thank you.

Thanks John, I'll look it up.
