Hi, like many others I was waiting for the T6 launch in the hope we would know that there was also going to be a t6 California. I would ideally like to have my new Cali for next spring so i called VW customer services to register my interest in the new T6 and to my horror it is not even on their system. I could register my interest in a Panel van, Caravelle etc... but he said there was no mention of a Cali anywhere on the system in the UK or Europe.

I am now thinking of looking for a T5 Cali as it looks like the T6 Cali is either not happening or a very long way off as it will be the continent which gets it first then us :(

The pessimist in me says thats not good as puts doubts on whether they will make a T6 Cali or if they do will they do them in RHD.

The optimist in me says maybe they are going to do a really good revamp and its just going to take time.

It raises the question of how much money do VW actually make out of Calis, are they worth doing? especially with all the warranty/repair claims that have eaten away at the profits since.

I think you'd be surprised how a lot of car manufacturers flag ship models rarely make money and are just used to raise the profile of the brand

see my post on main forum
yes it IS happening should be in Uk around mid November

Been looking around for more info on the forthcoming T6. As mentioned above, looks like the Cali version will be here late this year. Seems there will be three versions, Beach, Ocean and Coast. Be interesting to see the spec differences. It also appears if the new Euro 6 engines will use this new 'ad blue' fluid which requires filling up every 8,000 miles or so. It seems to help with diesel emissions. VW claims it is a small cost to refill...

It was mentioned on a German website. Beach I guess will be similar to the existing Beach. One of the remaining two will be the SE equivalent, so anyone's guess what the other version will be. Perhaps something between the Beach and full blown Camper.
