Isofix guides make it much easier to locate the fixings with the arms on the car seat.Mine is a 57 plate and has isofix fittings on back seat (2) not front passenger seat.
They are a bu**er to see and to attach to the child seat.
Although with practice it becomes easy-ish.
Tilting the back seat backrest backwards a bit helps.
It ca be put more upright once the seat is attached.
Of all the different cars I've used with an isofix fitting, this is by far the worst!
But better having one than not I guess
