Issue with the retracting roof T6.1

Hello,
In very warm weather, the open roof drops by about 10 cm overnight.

I know it's a known issue, and I'm curious if the cause is known or how it can be fixed.

Of course, the VW service doesn’t know what to do and is asking me

I have made some plastic heat shields and they stop the issue of the rams heating up in the sun and then dropping when it is cooler at night. My post with pictures of the shield (right angle plastic, so not special)

What if you lower the roof after sunset and raise it again before you go to sleep ?

Just retention it before going to bed, no need to drop it.

after our new van went in 4 times for this issue we finally had a new ram fitted which cured our drop on the drivers side
