Hello everyone on this Gloriously sunny day, We are in Leeds and want to go to Jersey in our camper the check in at Poole is 7.00 a. m if we got there evening before can you wait inline? or is there a good hotel or campsite nearby with secure parking as we will be fully loaded including bikes, Or should we just Go to France as Jersey doesn't seem to be user Friendly, Thanks in Advance .

We have done the ferry a few times from Poole to Jersey, not the best cruise port in the country that's for sure for facilities.
We visited Jersey for about every year for 10 years but stopped going in 2024 .
It has become overcrowded and so so expensive

We started going to France and it is literally a third of the price of Jersey, for accommodation, food, drink in fact everything and it seemed a lot friendler.
In my opinion Jersey has turned from a holiday destination to a purely business driven island
( Always probably has been )

Sidmouth on Tour, Thank you for your response, very informative, we have done France alot we love it but I thought Jersey might be easy, As in once your there no more driving, Thanks again.

Try this one ten minutes down the road and a pub in walking distance.

There is only about x4 campsites on Jersey

Jersey has been taken over by BF recently so I'm not sure if the parking would have changed, but BF do have a park up area in Poole which I often see with Campers and Motorhomes when I've come back from France late. I'm sure if you sent them an email they could advise.

I'd like to do Jersey myself as we can take the dog without passport hassle but it seems ridiculously expensive compared to St Malo or Caen.

I’m fairly sure you can park / camp in the lanes at Poole for a fee (£10/15 or something). I enquired last year and they said there was a toilet block available too. Probably not the most scenic but if you’re just getting your head down before a sailing then it’ll probably suffice.

Thanks so much, Yes it's looking like a few weeks in Amazing France again, Camper friendly.

Not been for about 5 years, however we found the island friendly enough and an interesting place to visit. There are very few sites and the van must be on site overnight; no wild camping whatsoever.
The bus service is limited; everything goes to and from the main port so you will want to drive most days. There is good walking, especially on the coasts.
We stayed at Rozel Bay, on a bus route, quiet.
Jersey is a bit pricey but it is a holiday destination at the end of the day. Worth going if only once.
