Apologies if this is not posted in the right place. So, the saga of leaking bellows goes on. I had my OS4 bellows replaced on my T6.1 this week. I was expecting them to be replaced with OS6 bellows BUT they were replaced with version OS1 that were manufactured on 12 December 2024. What are the views of Forum members. Have I been sold a pup by the main dealer who did the work? It does seem very odd. Any thoughts would be very welcome. By the way VW agreed to replace the OS4 bellows but I had to insist and threaten legal action against the garage and VW.

I don't know what 01S version is. On the standard grey coloured bellows, 03S were fitted during 2023 manufacture before being superceded by 04S 05S and finally 06S.

There's something definitely odd with 01S manufactured in December 2024.

You know if you have the 06S version equivalent fitted because when it's opened, on the two front vertical seams you will find a transparent stuck or ironed-on seam sealer.

If you've got that you've got the latest and greatest.

And well done for having a go at VW. They really do take the p*** with their meaningless warranty. Never thought they could deny issuing new bellows and survive a small claims court. Or even risk a summons.

Thank you for your reply. The main dealer could not explain the O1S ticket either. They are investigating. I do have replacement bellows with seam sealer on the vertical seams so I could be in luck. As for VW Warranty, I agree with you that defective bellows or indeed anything else on a new or nearly new California should be covered. There is also Consumer Protection legislation which is relevant to the dealership that sold the California. I will update this thread when I get clarification on the OS1 ticket on what could be an OS6 set of bellows.

So, I have a feeling that when the T7 was launched it launched with 01S bellows.

Maybe they're compatible and that's what you got.

Seam sealer is a good sign!!!!

If they are dark grey on the outside and light fabric on the inside, with taped corners, they are the same as 06S bellows. What colour are yours Top Diner ?

They are a mid to dark grey on the outside with a very light grey on the inside, with what appears to be clear sealant on the vertical seams but not the horizontal seam ant the bottom of the semi-circle opening on the front of the bellows. The O1S ticket is causing some consternation at the main dealer and at VW UK Customer Services. I will update the Forum when I have more news as I suspect the bellows saga will run for a while yet.
