Leisure batteries - do’s and dont’s

Dear Hive mind…

The leisure batteries on our 6.1 Ocean are starting to wobble. We will need to replace them.

2 questions -
Has anyone changed their 75 amp AGM batteries and straight swapped for 100 amp AGM. Was it a straight swap or did you need to adjust anything.

When at home on the drive we leave our van plugged in permanently to keep the leisure batteries full. Is this the right of wrong action to keep them in best condition …

It’s not the amps you need to worry about but the physical dimensions in relation to where they are located.
Why are your batteries failing so soon? What symptoms are you experiencing?
Keeping then plugged in is fine and does no harm.

We don’t seem to be holding charge now for as long as we did .. we’ve got some longer off grid trips coming up so that’s not ideal. The batteries are coming up for 4 years, although in the early days we had a couple of instances where we let them go completely flat - hence the now keeping them plugged in.

We don’t seem to be holding charge now for as long as we did .. we’ve got some longer off grid trips coming up so that’s not ideal. The batteries are coming up for 4 years, although in the early days we had a couple of instances where we let them go completely flat - hence the now keeping them plugged in.

Have you checked the voltage of each battery? Also the cube fuse on the rear battery?

Not the cube fuse -that’s new information - thanks will check that ..

Suggestion: if you want to start troubleshooting post a photo of the graphic on your control panel and mention your model year (yours is probably 2019 or 2020).

There is some non-obvious information on the panel and posting a photo is pretty simple.
