Leveling rear parcel shelf with seats in bed mode?

HI All,

I have recently purchased a T5.1 Beach which I'm absolutely in love with! However, the mattress that goes over the seats and parcel shelf is way too hard for me.

I like the look of the "outwell dreamboat wide" self inflating mattress as I have slept on a thicker version when camping and found it very comfortable.

The problem is that the parcel shelf is lower than the seat when they have been put into the bed mode.

Does anybody know where I can purchase some firmish foam to infill this area? It would be great if there was something available to fit this profile? maybe someone has done this before?

There is a "pad" VW sold , not a full matress but just a bit of padded foam covered in material that is used the level the seat / MFB, (multi flex board) it will be available from supplier like LLL parts see their website for parts diagrams , other wise search "automotive foam" and you will get a list of potential suppliers.

Yes you can buy them for the T6, I think VW generously sell them for around £470! nothing for the T5.1 though. Unless they’re the same part?

Thank you for your replies. Yes I can get foam cut to size its just strange that you cant buy something off the shelf considering how many people also find the mattress uncomfortable and that this piece of foam is necessary to level up the whole bed. I've searched the suppliers you've mentioned and there's nothing on any of their websites.

IKEA sell various thicknesses of memory foam bed mattresses pretty cheap which one can cut & adapt.
We also purchased one of their Cotton mattress double covers which the VW mattress sections fit into well & then in addition I slide in our Thermarest thin (35 mm) bed mats . When not in use, deflate & then it folds up with the 4 VW sections, when unfolded to sleep on, simply inflate and it makes a very comfortable supportive bed in conjunction with the the “hard” VW mattress.
