So we have a 2021 beach tour, it’s been in for various warranty issues so far we have had
  1. Apple play noise issues - enter on 1st visit replaced the dashboard on second visit to a different band centre no fault found
  2. child lock fault issues- again no fault found
  3. infotaiment randomly turn it self off and refusing to turn on
  4. usb c only one socket working
  5. both 12 sockets in front not working
  6. loose drivers seat very rocky
the van has been to two van centres and the fault list gets longer, the car play is so in reliable we have bought a garmin to nav to as the CarPlay connects randomly in a journey. Today I have raised a formal complaint with VW so will keep you posted

Not good at all, allot of people waiting for Californias to be built on this forum, I hope the problems don’t continue.

Yes it has certainly shaken my trust in VW, you expect a quality product and pay a good price. really makes me consider buying a Merc or going to a converted van at least vanworks or people like that have invested interest VW come across as not really caring !!

My 6.1 satnav in a Beach Camper keeps directing me around the local farmer’s field to get to the A90, despite being set in ‘trailer’ mode. Chocolate teapot springs to mind…

try a high quality high speed cable for your carplay. i noticed my android auto keeps cutting out but even though the cable appears to work normally charging stuff up i swapped the cable out and the problem was solved. as for the seat can you just check the 4 bolts are tight ? also bear in mind most dealers don't know what they're talking about

You would have exactly the same problems with a converted van & the converter would send you straight back to the VW dealer if its a problem with the base vehicle.
As for changing to a Mercedes, their dealers make VW look competent. At least you would swerve the possibility of roof corrosion, just have to watch out for blistering & the roof actually cracking instead.

What is the problem with the child lock? Ive not heard of problems with that.

Well update raised a case with vw 7 days ago still no call or email despite saying 4 working days for a reply. Poor customer service IMHO. not really good enough, vw are resting on their heritage laurels!
