Our T5 California 4 motion 2006, 110 miles had some corrosion signs.
The annual MOT check-up showed some corrosion at the front, there where the front suspension springs are seated.
Having a extreme poor experience with our previous T4 westfalia the corrosion on our T5 had to be removed asap.

We also had right-hand door issues, the lower door corner was vibrating against the door sill causing paint damage and corrosion at the door and door sill.
The door has been readjusted and all looks fine now we have play enough.

Wow, how much front suspensions do you have?

And I should have covered all that didn't need painting. But all better than rust.

Darn.... to many pictures... Mmmm I tried to delete some of them... but for what ever reason I'm not able to do so.. maybe the moderator could remove the duplicate pictures.

To be honest I'm not to happy with and some times disappointed about VW, I have seen lot of rust on these van's. There are hot spots.
Door handle sliding door. Front suspension cavities, the two beams from the firewall towards the front.

Engine wise the AXD diesel engine could turnout to be your nightmare, we had all sorts of problems.. the gearbox could be a week point as well. Ours broke down after 120.000km, de main bearing seized, clutch and two mass flywheel explode.
We had the roof spoiler corrosion, a body workshop had to spend a lot of effort to cure that problem..

But despite all our problems we had with our van we are sill happy to have her, we like to camp and travel, been to the UK Cornwall, Ireland, France, Spain Italy, Germany, Austria, .... and more
We had planed to visit Scotland in may but Corona came by so we have to see how things evolve.

Regards,
Frans... (Netherlands)
