Preference is stainless and not sporty (its a diesel), or with pipes sticking out. Classic sacrificial corrosion on the outer skin. I don't want a VW replacement as they don't last and most likely dreadfully overpriced.

Have a look for hornet exhausts. Also on eBay.

You could try a stainless steel exhaust supplier that makes a system to your requirements.
These give a lifetime warranty, worth a try/quote.

PP Tuning do a pipe down system but I'm not sure if this is noisy or not. You'd have to contact them if interested.
